Guest Post: Antisemitism Has No Place In Our Movement

Editor’s Note: This is a guest post by Mack Parnell, who serves as the Executive Director for the Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition. He leads their efforts on state legislative affairs, voter education, and advocacy for the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Time after time, Israel and the Jewish people have been the victims of unthinkable atrocities, and the world often turns a blind eye.

Recently, two young staffers for the Israeli Embassy in DC were murdered by a pro Hamas terrorist, and a peaceful gathering of pro-Israel activists in Colorado was fire-bombed by an illegal immigrant terrorist, injuring more than a dozen.

This is a fight against evil and Israel is in a fight for her very existence. We will unwaveringly stand alongside Israel and the Jewish people. Please join us in prayer for the families of the two young Embassy staffers and those impacted by the attack in Colorado.

Here in Georgia, as we head into the Georgia GOP Convention, we have seen a number of comments from individuals targeting Jewish people and Israel. We were compelled to join with our friends at the Republican Jewish Coalition to reaffirm our movement’s commitment to fight antisemitism:

Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition and the Republican Jewish Coalition Make Statement Against Antisemitism

Atlanta, GA – We reaffirm that antisemitism has no place in the Georgia Republican Party. In recent weeks, a number of questionable statements have been made as we head into the GOP Convention. Whether by innuendo or suggestion, antisemitic comments about Jewish individuals and/ or Israel are beneath the dignity of our movement.

This comes at a time when Jewish support for the GOP is strong and growing. President Trump is the most pro-Israel President in our nation’s history, and these disgraceful actions have no place in our movement. The Republican Party has long been the leader in supporting Israel’s right to defend herself and in the protection of the Jewish people, and that support must remain under the Georgia GOP leadership.
